Yankees Season Relies On A.J. Burnett

The Detroit Tigers are one win away from advancing to the ALCS and eliminating the New York Yankees.  This is in large part due to C.C. Sabathia's poor performance last night in which he walked six batters and left early in the fifth inning.  I haven't watched an inning of baseball ever since the Red Sox collapsed last week against the Orioles.  However, I may tune in tonight to watch the Yankees-Tigers game which features the Yanks equivalent of John Lackey, A.J. Burnett.  It will feel good to see New Yorkers suffer like we did with Lackey, and know they will not be winning the World Series this year.
The $82.5 million dollar pitcher had an ERA above eleven in the month of August and led the majors with 25 wild pitches.  He has been extremely unreliable this season and was the essentially the sixth man in the Yankees five-man rotation.  The only reason A.J. Burnett is pitching tonight is because game 1 was extended due to rain.  Let's thank mother nature and hope the tatted up, Harley Davidson riding, pitcher loses control early and surrenders a big lead to the Tigers.  Then we can sit back and watch the Tigers, including Victor Martinez whom we should have never let go, crush the aging Yankees and send them on their way to the golf course.  Sure the Sox may have had the worst collapse in baseball history but our season will have ended premature just like everyone's except the World Series Champ.  We can thank Papelbon for ripping the band-aid off nice and quick and not giving us any false sense of hope.  Would you rather get told by your girl your definitely not going to have sex tonight (Red Sox) or get led on for a while and teased but ultimately don't accomplish the feat either (Yankees)?  No blue balls for me thanks.
