Youk To Play Hurt

Unlike J.D. "Nancy" Drew, Kevin Youkilis has decided to play hurt for the rest of the Red Sox season.  He will require off season surgery to remedy a sports hernia.
Most professional athletes play hurt throughout the season, especially in hockey and football. However, baseball is one of those weird sports where something simple like a hang nail on a pitcher causes him to miss a start.  It is great to hear that Kevin Youkilis will play through his sports hernia as he is a fan favorite and we need him down the stretch.
I could care less whether or not J.D. Drew truly has a "broken" finger.  Ever since he joined the ball club he has done nothing but miss time and get hurt.  He shows no emotion while he plays and doesn't deserve to wear the number seven and play right field at Fenway Park.  He is the complete opposite of his predecessor Trot Nixon, who was a true dirt dog.  J.D. Drew will be gone next year and he may have already "played" his final game with the Red Sox.  Theo Epstein and the Red Sox front opposite completely missed by signing him to his lucrative deal.  Let's hope the same isn't said about the other corner outfielder Carl Crawford.
