Tom Brady Goes H.A.M.

Over 500 yards passing!  Are you kidding me!  Tom Brady made it look effortless last night as he led the New England Patriots to a 38-24 victory.  Tom Brady went 32-48 with 517 yards passing, four touchdowns, and a quarterback rating of 121.  These numbers are ungodly.  Whoever drafted Brady in fantasy leagues definitely won their match ups as he put up about 60 points himself, depending on your league settings.
It is only one game but the Patriots offense looked as good, if not better, than games in 2007 when they re-wrote the record books.  With two top-notch tight ends in Hernandez and Gronk, the Patriots have too many weapons for opposing defenses to worry about.  Even though he only had one catch, Ochocinco is still going to draw coverage.  Wes Welker will always find a way to get open and is a threat anywhere on the field (99 yd TD last night.)  Brady's old pal Deion Branch showed  he still has what it takes to succeed in the NFL, especially in this offense, as he had seven receptions for 93 yards.  The Patriots offense is going to be near impossible to completely stop, as teams will have to score plenty of points to keep up with them.
Miami may not be a playoff caliber team but any division game on the road, especially on Monday Night Football, is a tough game to win.  It will be interesting to see the Patriots offense and defense face better teams like San Diego next week, and particularly the rival Jets later in the year.  But after one game, I think all of New England has a great feeling about this years team.  With new additions on both sides of the ball, including Albert "one-armed tackle" Haynesworth, Sean Ellis, and Leigh Bodden to name a few, Patriots fans should be excited for the potential of this years team.
With that said, Pats fans have learned from the past few seasons that the regular season doesn't mean anything. We haven't won a playoff game since 2007 and went 14-2 last year only to lose to Gang Green in our first playoff game last year.  Obviously you have to win during the regular season in order to make the playoffs.  I'm just saying lets not get too excited over our regular season performance as we all know it's what you do in the playoffs that matters.  Until then, keep on chuckin' Tom!
