Should Pats Fans Worry?

Last night Plaxico Burress made a terrific touchdown catch in his first preseason game as the Jets beat Cincinatti 27-7.  This was his first NFL action in three years and according to him, "it feels like I never left."  Plaxico finished the game with three catches for 66 yards and one touchdown.
We have learned from Michael Vick that players can miss long periods of time, even being incarcerated for several months, and still be able to play in the NFL.  Michael Vick didn't just return to the NFL as a mediocre player, he quickly became a game changer.  He finished second in MVP voting last season and looks to bring his Eagles back to the NFC Championship game this season.  While this is Plaxico's first game back and it was only a preseason game against the lowly Bengals, he still showed that he has the breakaway speed that allowed him to be an elite receiver for years.  He made a nice over the shoulder catch falling into the endzone which delighted the rain soaked fans in the new Meadowlands stadium.  Only time will tell if Plaxico can be a game changer and follow in Michael Vick's footsteps, transitioning from life in jail to life in the NFL.
Being a Pats fan, I am a little nervous about the Plaxico and Santonio Holmes combination the Jets have.  Both of these receivers have won Superbowls and made two of the most clutch catches in Superbowl history.  The lasting image I have of Plaxico Burress is his catch against the Patriots which ended their hopes of an undefeated season.  It wasn't a spectacular catch by any means, as it was a lob pass from Eli Manning, but he still caught it and ended Patriot perfection.  Santonio Holmes' also has a catch forever instilled in my mind.  His picture perfect tip-toe catch in the back of the endzone propelled the Steelers to a late come from behind victory against the Cardinals in Superbowl XLIII.  If Plaxico can return to being a game changing receiver, then the Patriots, as well as the rest of the league, should be a little concerned.  The Jets have made it to two straight AFC Championship games and lost.  Rex Ryan and the rest of Gang Green are hoping that Plaxico can help propel them to their first Superbowl appearance in 42 years.  Should Pats fans begin to worry?
