Kyle Orton Named Starting QB For Broncos

Despite fans plea for Tim Tebow to be the Denver Broncos starting quarterback, coach John Fox named Kyle Orton the opening day starter against the Raiders.  Fox had this to say about Orton, "He's played very well. He has great command of the offense, I think he has the most experience in this offense, and I think that's been evident."  Tebow, who started the final three games for the Broncos last season hoped to take over as the starting quarterback this season but he has struggled tremendously.  His accuracy and timing have been off and coach John Fox made the right decision to give Kyle Orton the starting role.  Fox stated that he hasn't made a decision on Orton's backup and that Tebow and Brady Quinn will have to fight for that position.
The Broncos aren't going anywhere with any of these three quarterbacks.  Orton in my mind just doesn't have what it takes to be a championship quarterback.  He was 3-10 with the Broncos last year with 20 TD and 9 INT.  If he doesn't perform well early in the year and lead the Broncos to victory, fans will quickly turn on him and things will get ugly.  With Tebow struggling and Brady Quinn waiting in the wings, it's looking like another long dreadful year for the Broncos. Sorry Denver fans, but John Elway isn't walking through that door.
